Berwick Court Farm, nr. Alfriston, East Sussex
Conversion and Re-use of Farm Buildings to Office/Light Industrial Workshop Complex
Parker Dann has submitted successful planning applications for changes of use for a number of former farm buildings at Berwick Court Farm, Alfriston, to B1 and B8 uses. The Farm is located within the South Downs National Park. The units are now home to a number of small local businesses and the income derived from letting them out has assisted the farmer to maintain his farming activity on the land and in the remainder of the farm buildings. This has been a very successful diversification scheme, and Parker Dann project managed the planning proposals ensuring that both Wealden District Council and the East Sussex Highway Authority were happy that the proposals accorded fully with all relevant National and Local Plan policies as well as Highway Authority standards for onsite parking and safety and visibility at the access.
Most recently Parker Dann successfully submitted a planning application to fit photo voltaic panels to one of the converted buildings which will reduce energy costs in accordance with policies for sustainable development.
